you send your loved ones to their first school check out the HOW?

- How far is
my child’s first school? What is the location and how accessible
it is?
- What is the
course curriculum design, specially the organization of the day?
What are the teaching methods? Is it supported by audio visual
aids?
- What is my
involvement in the curriculum? How often do parents and teachers
meet to facilitate a total development of the child?
- Will my child
adjust to the methods of instruction in the school? How does the
students involve in different aspects of course curriculum?
- What are
the personality development initiatives of the school? What are
the grooming standards, general awareness and communication skills
of the students?
- What are
the team building activities adopted in the school? Is there any
study tours and outings / picnics?
- Is there
special attention for any deficiencies discovered during the teaching
process? How and When?
- What is the
focus on talented kids and what steps are adopted to multiply
their talents?
- What are
the existing housekeeping, cleanliness, maintenance of the building
and its ambience. Specially the landscaping, greenery,

the time allocations for each activity specified in the curriculum?
- What is the
teacher, student ratio?
- What is the
average qualification of the teachers? What are their training
and development exposures, competency level and motivational quotient?
- What is the
average class size?
- What is the
average age, gender ratio of the school? Is there a separation
of younger and older students?
- Who are the
peer group to which my child is exposed? Is there a mix of students
from different backgrounds?
- Do you have
placement cells for further placements in reputed schools? Or
do you have higher education avenues in your institution? What
are the schools past records?
- How is discipline
maintained in the school, Any punishments? What are the corrective
and preventive disciplinary actions?
- What are
the timings, leaves, vacations, etc.? What are the school rules
and regulations, their admission policies and procedures?
- How are the
assessments done? What are the assessment systems and records?
Is there any examinations? Is the assessment continuous? Is there
awards for performance and motivation for better performance?
- What are
the travel facilities? Does the school own CNG transports? Who
accompanies the students in the school transport?
- What medical
/ first aid facilities do you have in case of emergency?
- How safe
is my child on the way to school, at school, and on the way back?
- What are
the costs involved in the education, co-curricular activities?
What are the payment terms of these costs?
- What are
the affiliations and memberships of the school? What are the infrastructures
(land, building, play fields, toys, electronic gadgets, musical
instruments, etc.)
- What are
the philosophy and mission of the school? What are the competence
and credential of the governing body, principal and others. Is
there any visits of external luminaries and speakers and how well
the school is integrated with the community?
